Exchange Halloween Candy for Goodie Bags while Treating our Troops!

Here’s a great way to keep the cavities away while supporting our troops! Sacramento Children’s Museum is holding a Sweet Exchange event that will give kids plenty of incentive to surrender their loot.

Extend the fun of Halloween for your kids by letting them dress up in their costumes again. If they bring in their candy to the museum on November 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, it will be donated to troops overseas. In exchange for their candy every child will go home with a goodie bag from Capital Pediatric Dentistry! The family that brings in the most candy will win a Smart Gear balance bike from the Museum Store. Questions? Email info@sackids.org!

SCM will join other Sacramento arts organizations to celebrate ARTOBER! All month long we will highlight activities in our Art Studio, create self portraits, explore different art mediums, and be inspired by special guests. 50% off children’s admission every Friday in October.

ReCreate Art Classes every Friday at 3:30pm.

Artober at SCM is generously supported by a grant from the River Cats Foundation.

You are invited to witness a high-energy team sculpture competition! Junk 2 Genius promotes the arts as well as our community’s commitment to reduce, recycle and reuse – all while providing a fun, team building experience!

When: Friday, November 8th at 12pm
Where: Sacramento Children’s Museum
Look forward to:

  • Timed      team sculpture competition by local businesses and non-profit groups
  • Help      choose the team choice award!
  • Food      Trucks!

Please contact Executive Director Sharon Stone Smith at sstonesmith@sackids.org or 916-638-7225 x 101 for more information or if you are interested in a sponsorship or team entry.

Cultural Connections is every Thursday in the Party Room at 1pm! Please join us as we learn about Armenia all month long.

October 24: Daily Life in Armenia: Spend a day with us in Armenia. We will find out what most people do for a living, where most Armenians live (which isn’t in their country!) color some Armenia money to buy some traditional bread and make a flag.

October 31: Traditional Hats: We will be making some traditional Armenia hats to wear home and sampling some Armenian candy.

We hope you look forward to learning about the CARIBBEAN in November!
