Roebbelen Contracting, Inc. Projects Receive Seven Awards

Five of Roebbelen Contracting, Inc.’s projects were selected by the Western Council of Construction Consumers as 2012 Project Excellence Award recipients. Two also received the Sustainability Excellence Award, a new distinction award for 2012. These projects were among only 14 total from throughout California to receive the Owners’ Project Excellence Awards. Winners were honored at the Awards Gala held at the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa on October 16th, making 2012 the ninth year Roebbelen has received awards for their projects from the WCCC.

Roebbelen’s projects were recognized for their effective execution; new, innovative ideas and strategies for improving the construction process; and successful management of the relationships between the owner, contractors and service providers.

5th Avenue Alternative School, Sequoia Union High School District, Redwood City, CA. This LEED Platinum 30,000 sq ft alternative high school project was one to receive the Sustainability Excellence Award. The project was designed by Cody Anderson Wasney Architects, Palo Alto, CA.

Innovation Design Center – “The Foundry”, Palo Alto, CA. A LEED Platinum renovation project that also received two awards, one of which being the Sustainability Excellence Award. This project, one of three innovation centers in the world (others are in Texas and Israel), was designed by Gensler Architecture, San Ramon, CA.

Education Services Center, Folsom Cordova Unified School District, Rancho Cordova, CA. This project is the consolidation of six sites from two cities into one District Office, including the location of the Folsom Cordova Board of Education. It was designed by Rainforth Grau Architects, Sacramento, CA.

H.W. Kolb Elementary School, Dublin Unified School District, Dublin, CA. This 18,800 sq ft new construction elementary school was built on a 10-acre site to accommodate the explosive population in the Dublin Unified School District. The project was designed by Deems Lewis McKinley Architecture, San Francisco, CA.

La Clinica de La Raza Monument, Oakland, CA. A 17,000 sq ft renovated medical, dental and mental health facility that will enable the clinic to nearly triple its patient capacity while meeting the unique needs of its community both linguistically and culturally. It was designed by SGPA Architecture and Planning, San Francisco, CA.
