Vista Del Lago High School was one of Roebbelen’s largest projects completed utilizing the Construction Manager at-Risk Design-Assist Delivery Method. The project consisted of construction of a new 168,000 SF high school on a 52 acre site in Folsom, CA. The project was complicated due to the massive grading operation required to construct the building pads on the hillsides of Folsom. The campus featured multiple two-story classroom buildings comprised of a structural steel frame, elevated decks, single-ply roofing, metal stud framing, curtain wall, glazing and a lath/plaster exterior skin. Many of the connecting second-floor walkways were cast-in-place decks with cantilevered bridges. The campus also featured athletic fields and equipment to include a synthetic sports/football field, an ECS soccer field, Varsity & JV baseball and softball fields, and a competition swimming pool with pool/concession building. Other relevant features include the main electrical room that housed all EMS, Intrusion Alarm, Fire Alarm and Data, Telecom equipment for the entire campus. The campus also featured a public-use library, administration building, teacher staffing and room areas, storage areas, loading dock at Multi-purpose building. The supporting facilities also include emergency access roads, retaining walls, three parking lot areas, sidewalks and site underground utilities.

The campus and buildings were designed to meet the demanding educational needs of this community, while incorporating sustainable design. This school achieves a 26.5% savings above regulations and is expected to save the district close to $57,000 annually.
