The Walnut Creek Switching Facility project included the construction of a new telecommunications switching facility and a building addition to the existing facility in Walnut Creek, CA. The case-in-place concrete and structure steel building encompasses 52,033 SF. This new facility is one of several switching facilities in the Bay Area communication grid and designed to handle millions of individual phone calls every month including emergency services. Being a mission critical facility, the project includes complex building systems such as redundant power systems, dry and wet fire suppression systems and advance mechanical, data, and electrical components.
