Position: Business Development Specialist
Reports to: Business Development Manager

Position Summary
The Business Development Specialist supports the qualification, proposal, and interview preparation process, which entails assisting with kick-off meetings, coordinating production schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks by internal and external team members, drafting and editing content, coordinating the creation of graphics, enforcing quality control, and assisting the team with production, assembly, and timely delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize information in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Collaborate with Market Segment Leaders and other seller-doers on coordinated business development efforts
  • Support the development of appropriate reports, procedures, and policies to support ongoing business development efforts
  • Create and update standard proposal materials, such as project sheets, resumes, project and staff photos, and the content library
  • Track and report on client satisfaction through surveys at various project intervals
  • Assist Market Segment Leaders in identifying new business opportunities through close monitoring of industry publications, utilizing a professional network, conducting market research, and identifying market trends, opportunities, projects, clients, and teaming partners
  • Assist in developing and implementing a client relationship and retention program
  • Identify strategic industry award programs for Roebbelen’s market segments and assist in the submission process
  • Manage post-event follow up of trade show booth participation, conference attendance, and workshop speaking opportunities
  • Attend events and represent Roebbelen professionally and in accordance with Company values, standards, policies, and procedures
  • Implement and adhere to corporate brand standards and messaging in digital/print communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related area
  • 2+ years of experience in business development within the AEC industries
  • Non-degree holders must have 6+ years of experience of business development in the AEC industry
  • Standard Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, cloud-based file sharing, and video conferencing technology
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to represent Roebbelen professionally in all circumstances

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related area
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing and business development within the AEC industry
  • Experience with marketing and business development with both public and private markets
  • Experience with Design-Build pursuits
  • Knowledge of the Sacramento, Central Valley, and Bay Area markets
  • Highly Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator software
  • Experience with CRM system, database, social media, website maintenance, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Procore
  • Skilled in conducting market research and analyzing market data
