Placer County Coroner Facility
Placer County was in desperate need of a new Coroner Facility to replace their current facility, which was built during the World War II era. This design-build project is a new 20,000 SF facility to include state-of-the-art autopsy and cooler equipment as well as a public lobby, security, indoor and outdoor break areas, office space and storage.
This structure is tilt-up with structural steel roofing, providing time and cost savings for self-performed work. The tilt-up concrete walls were poured outside the building footprint on casting slabs and were designed to not require a pour back closure strip which significantly expedited the project schedule. The facility was also designed for future expansion and/or connectivity to an upcoming crime lab.
