Mono County Civic Center
The Mono County Civic Center encompasses the design and construction of an approximately 33,100 SF wing of an envisioned 53,500 SF office facility with utilities, access, parking lot and landscaping. This project is being completed utilizing the design-build delivery method.
This is a tilt-up building that is being constructed with panels poured on casting beds, as well as slab-on-grade. Eighty percent of the building does not contain a panel closure strip. This was done to eliminate the need for a closure pour and shortened the time-frame to pick panels. This allowed us to pick 37 panels in 1-1/2 days. These panels ranged in size from 20 to 35 feet tall with the largest panels weighing 126,000 pounds. A 350-ton, rubber tired crane was utilized in the picking off these panels. Two different patterns of form liners were used to accentuate the features of the exterior of the building; one running horizontal and the other vertical.
